세계관 설계도: 감정의 흐름으로 구축된 내면
저에게 있어 내면의 세계는 고정된 심리 구조나 이분법적 층위로 단순화될 수 있는 공간이
아닙니다. 그보다는 감정이 생성되고, 충돌하고, 흐르며, 때로는 잠재되는 유기적인 감정의 지형이자
흐름의 세계입니다. 이 지도는 인간의 내면을 설명하기 위한 것이 아니라,
제가 감정을 인식하고 해석하며 시각화하는 방식에 기반한 세계관을 표현한 설계도입니다.
감정의 세계는 직선적으로 작동하지 않습니다. 무의식의 목소리를 따라 떠오른 감정은
기억과 관계를 거치며 판단으로 이어지기도 하고, 때로는 복합적 형태로 전환되며,
상호작용, 분기, 교차를 통해 고유한 흐름을 생성합니다.
저는 이 복합적인 흐름을 시각 언어로 탐색하고자 하였고, 그 과정에서 등장한 존재가
바로 무명(無名) 입니다. 무명은 감정 구조 속에서 관찰자로, 머무르며, 흐름을 가능하게 하는 존재로 등장하지만, 그 기능은 점차 확장되어 감정 구조의 조율자이자 흐름을 이끄는 중재자가 됩니다.
Worldview Map: An Inner World Built by the Flow of Emotions
For me, the inner world is not a fixed mental structure
or a space that can be explained in simple opposites.
It is a living and moving space, where emotions are made, crash, flow,
and sometimes stay hidden for a while. This map does not try to explain the human mind. Instead, it shows how I understand, feel, and turn emotions into visual form. It is a personal map of how I see the emotional world.
Emotions do not move in straight lines. They often rise from the unconscious,
pass through memories and relationships and then become judgments.
Sometimes they change into complex forms and create unique flows through interaction, splitting, and crossing. I wanted to explore these emotional flows using visual language.
And in that process, I met a being called Muumyung (無名).
Muumyung first appears as an observer in the structure of emotions.
He helps the flow happen by staying close to emotions.
Later, he grows into a guide and coordinator
who supports and balances emotional movement.
그의 여정
무명은 인간이 지구에 존재하기도 전부터 존재했던 감정 없는 존재입니다. 그는 한때 자신의 행성에서 물질적인 결핍을 겪으며 살아가고 있었고, 그 부족함을 채우기 위해 지구라는 낯선 환경으로 이동하게 됩니다. 지구에서 인간의 삶을 관찰하며 자신이 필요로 했던 자원을 얻고 살아가던 무명은 점차 정신적으로 고립되어 있다는 사실을 자각하게 됩니다. 모든 것이 채워진 듯 보였지만, 그의 내면에는 여전히 해소되지 않은 허기가 남아 있었고, 그 공허는 감정을 가질 수 없다는 본질적 결핍에서 비롯된 것이었습니다.
His Journey
Muumyung is a being without emotions, and he existed even before humans came to Earth. He once lived on his own planet, but there was not enough material to survive. To fill this lack, he moved to a new and strange place—Earth. On Earth, he watched how humans lived and found the resources he needed. At first, it seemed like he had everything.
But slowly, he realized he felt lonely inside. Even though his needs were met, he still had an emptiness that would not go away. That emptiness came from one deep truth: he could not feel emotions. And this was the real reason for his hunger.
그는 캐릭터가 아닙니다.
무명은 단순한 캐릭터가 아닙니다.
그는 감정의 구조를 시각적으로 탐구하기 위해 만들어진 사유의 도구이자 조형적 언어의 매개체입니다. 감정이 생성되고 억압되며, 다시 흐르기까지의 과정을 추적하고, 그 과정을 시각적으로 해석하고 조직해내기 위한 장치로 기능합니다.
무명의 신체는 구조화되지 않고 유연한 형상을 가지고 있으며, 큰 어깨와 긴 팔은 감정을 받아들이고 껴안는 존재로서의 태도를 담고 있으며, 그는 표정을 통해 특정 감정을 직접 표상하지 않습니다. 이러한 무정형성과 무표정은 감정의 방향성을 강요하지 않으며, 감정의 흐름을 관찰하고 수용하는 공간적 성질을 지니고 있습니다. 무명은 어떤 감정도 배제하지 않고, 그 복잡하고 겹겹인 흐름을 받아들이며감정의 언어 이전의 상태를 사유하게 만드는 존재입니다.
He is NOT a Character
Muumyung is not just a character. He is a thinking tool and a visual form
created to explore the structure of emotions. He helps to follow how emotions are made, how they are pushed down, and how they begin to flow again. He works as a tool to show and organize these emotional processes through visual language.
Muumyung’s body is not fixed in one shape. It is soft and flexible. His large shoulders and long arms show that he is ready to hold and accept emotions. But he does not have a face that shows one clear emotion. This soft shape and calm face do not push one kind of feeling. nstead, he becomes a space that watches and accepts emotional flow. He does not reject any emotion. He takes in all the complex and layered feelings, and invites us to think about emotions before they even become words.
감정의 구조에서 사회로
저는 무명의 이야기를 통해 감정이라는 개인의 현상이 어떻게 사회적 구조와 문명 안으로 확장되는지를 탐구하고 있습니다. 최근 작업에서는 무명의 물리적 부재 혹은 미약한 흔적을 통해, 감정이 제거된 사회 구조 속에서 발생하는 균열과 공백을 시각화하고 있습니다. 이 균열은 단순한 상실이 아니라, 억눌린 감정이 새로운 형태로 드러날 수 있는 가능성의 공간입니다. 무명은 사라지는 존재가 아니라, 끊임없이 질문을 던지며 감정의 흐름을 재구성하고 감정 질서의 틈을 확장해나가는 시각적 철학의 구조로 계속 작동하고 있습니다.
From the Structure of Emotion to Society
Through Muumyung’s story, I explore how emotions—once personal and inner can grow and move into social systems and civilization. In my recent work, I show cracks and empty spaces inside society by showing Muumyung’s physical absence or very small traces. These cracks are not just signs of loss. They are spaces where blocked emotions can appear again in a new form. Muumyung is not a being who disappears. He keeps asking questions, changing the way emotions move, and opening new spaces in the emotional order. He continues to work as a visual structure of philosophy that helps us see emotions in a new way.
세계관 속 무명의 포지션
이 도식은 감정 생성이나 내면의 중재자로서의 역할을 넘어,
현재 무명이 제가 구축한 세계관에서 어떤 포지션을 점하고 있는지를 시각적으로 보여줍니다.
무명은 감정의 생성자이자 감정 구조를 해석하는 관찰자로 등장했지만, 지금의 그는 감정이 사회적 층위로 확장되는 흐름 속에서 개인과 집단, 사회와 문명 사이의 감정적 교차를 중재하고 감정 질서를 재구성하는 존재로 자리 잡고 있습니다.
이 도식 속에서 무명은 의식과 무의식을 넘나들며 감정을 생성하고, 외부 세계와의 상호작용 속에서 감정이 왜곡되거나 억압될 때 그 균열의 틈에 개입해 감정을 다시 흐르게 만듭니다. 그리고 그 흐름은 단순한 회복을 넘어서, 새로운 사회적 대화와 정서적 질서로 연결됩니다.
이 흐름은 감정을 개인적 경험에 가두지 않고, 사회 구조를 변화 시키는 하나의 기제로 확장할 수 있음을 보여줍니다. 무명은 이러한 철학을 매개하는 존재로, 감정의 구조를 통해 사회적 현실과 문명적 조건을 재구성하는 사유의 포지션을 수행하고 있습니다.
Muumyung’s Position in the Worldview
This diagram shows more than Muumyung’s role as a creator of emotions or a guide inside the inner world. It shows where Muumyung now stands in the worldview I have built through my work.
At first, Muumyung appeared as an observer who watched and understood emotional structures. Now, he works between emotions and society between individuals, groups, and civilizationhelping emotions move and building new emotional orders.
In this diagram, Muumyung moves between the conscious and the unconscious. He helps emotions grow, and when emotions are blocked or changed through contact with the outside world, he steps into the cracks and helps the flow return. This is not just recovery. It becomes a path to new conversations and emotional systems in society.
This process shows that emotions do not only stay as personal experiences. They can become a tool to change how society works.
Muumyung becomes a bridge for this idea. He helps us rethink emotional structures and see how they shape our social world and our way of living.
